Catalystic Leadership was founded by Dan Coombes, whose leadership-development work was deeply influenced by Bill Joiner and Stephen Josephs’ Leadership Agility and its description of the Catalyst leader. The company’s name grew from that idea.
Over time, Dan’s long friendship with Kevin Krosley grew into a professional collaboration when the business needed an additional executive coach. Today, Kevin leads most client engagements, while Dan continues as Founder and Executive Coach Emeritus—advising and coaching Kevin while making more room for family, fishing, and travel.
Kevin Krosley
Kevin Krosley is an executive coach and leadership advisor whose career has repeatedly taken him from deep expertise into work where the answers were less certain.
Trained as a scientist, Kevin earned a Ph.D. in chemistry before spending 24 years with Sigma-Aldrich and Merck KGaA in increasingly broad roles spanning research and development, operations, process improvement, new ventures, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and executive leadership. He worked directly with each of Sigma-Aldrich’s four CEOs and served as Chief of Staff during a period of significant organizational growth and change. He later spent six years as executive pastor of a large St. Louis church.
Those transitions shaped the question now at the heart of Catalystic Leadership: what happens when the expertise that made you successful is no longer enough to tell you what to do next?
Over the past two decades, Kevin has worked with more than 200 leaders through executive coaching, leadership-team engagements, workshops, and facilitated development experiences. His clients have included CEOs, senior executives, nonprofit leaders, functional leaders, and technically trained professionals moving into people leadership.
Kevin’s coaching starts with the real challenge a leader is facing now. Rather than supplying answers, he helps leaders widen perspective, surface assumptions, exercise judgment, act, learn, and strengthen their capacity to navigate future challenges independently.
Dan Coombes
In my career, I've navigated a wide array of leadership roles, spanning Sales, Marketing, Operations, and HR, eventually leading global Leadership Development and Executive Coaching initiatives for over 22,000 employees at Monsanto. I've had the privilege of working with senior leaders in many public, private, and non-profit organizations around the globe and across multiple industries, mainly in agriculture, sporting goods, financial services, healthcare, and retail. My passion as a coach and consultant lies in helping leaders at all levels—whether in the C-suite or just starting out—to achieve their full potential and create lasting impact within their organizations. While my coaching covers a broad range of topics, my consulting work focuses primarily on building leadership effectiveness, enhancing team and organizational performance, and guiding organizations through major transformations.
